Research & Courses: Advanced Health Communication |
|
|
This course is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in working on a campaign to reduce dangerous drinking among college students by changing their misperceptions of college drinking norms. Students will become familiar with the literature on college drinking and alcohol, social norms, misperceptions, experiential learning theories and materials written to describe the work of The Center for Communication and Health Issues (CHI) at Rutgers University. The course will emphasize the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the RU SURE Top Ten Misperceptions Campaign. RU SURE activities will take place on the College Avenue and Livingston campuses. The goal of the course is to provide students with a set of experiences in which they can apply their knowledge of communication theory and practices generally and health communication theory specifically. |
